"Hi Sarah, I wanted to introduce baby Jasper to you who was born on the 27th April 2017 at 2pm weighing a healthy 8lb 4oz.

During labour and delivery I employed all of my learnt hypnobirthing techniques and personal mantras. I didn't listen to the MP3 during labour, but had a pre-prepared playlist which was wonderful to birth to.

Hypnobirthing enabled me to stay relaxed throughout and the midwife commented numerous times on my calm nature. I felt happy, calm and in control and would certainly recommend Hypnobirthing to any expecting parents, especially as my husband found my relaxed nature enabled him to feel at ease and have confidence in my birthing abilities. With thanks & kisses from baby Jasper, Helen and Tom"

"When examined said this was due to him being back to back and was also not dilating so recommended epidural due to the time this would possibly take and the pain . I agreed and epidural was put in fine again this felt right for us. then his heart rate dropped so Doctors then rushed me in for an emergency C section luckily I had excepted the epidural so wasn't put to sleep.

Turns out jack has his cord around his neck and chin up so was compressing the cord with the contractions hence the heart rate dropping. we are both doing fine I just lost quiet a lot of blood so had 2 transfusion ........ even after all that it is the best thing I have ever been through I felt so empowered during labour, Ian also said he had never seen someone so calm and collective at every decision making step I personally feel this was down to the steps you talked us through during hypno birthing. Jack just obviously had other ideas and wanted a dramatic entrance"

Hi Sarah

I hope all is well with you.

Apologies for the lateness in getting in touch with you after our refresher
session.

Baby Laurie arrived a little early the week after we met! It was a very
different experience to George's birth as I had to be at hospital from the
beginning following my strep b diagnosis. Nottm City were great and got me
set up in the sanctuary birthing unit on arrival. Despite my waters
breaking, I wasn't in active labour but they gave me chance to get my
hypnobirthing mp3 going to get into the zone and try to get things
moving. Thanks to your refresher session I felt confident to make my own
choices and positively challenge any points regarding intervention. I found
the hypnobirthing techniques even more profound this time, and even though
my labour ended up being induced (due to Strep B risk with waters having
broken), i felt completely empowered by the whole experience and totally at
ease. Dare I say it, I don't even think I felt in pain as such - just had
gas and air to see me through the last 30 mins.

I wanted to get in touch to say a big, big thank you. I truly believe your
support through both my births has led to me having such positive
experiences. Laurie was super chilled on arrival and remains the placid boy
we met that day - all thanks to a comfortable and natural delivery.

Keep up the fab work! I recommend your programmes without a doubt.

All the best

"Hi Sarah, following attending your workshop I wanted to share our story with you. I've been meaning to for a while as my baby came early at 33+5 22nd May so I didn't get to complete the online course in preparation (he still wasn't due yet until 5th July).

So anyway, id been having light cramps for about a week, I put this down to my womb stretching and General preparation until the weekend I didn't quite feel right but couldn't put my finger on it - exhausted, low mood, period cramp feelings and generally run down. I had a feeling something was happening and considered the possibility it could be the start of labour but quickly brushed this off as I thought it was too soon. I called the midwives a couple of times who also said it was possible stretching as the cramps were long lasting.

Sunday morning I went to buy a new phone with my partner and mum, whilst talking to the sales advisor I felt my waters go but still wasn't sure..rushed to the toilet to find it was in fact definitely my waters. We left the car in the multi-storey car park and got a taxi to the hospital. I had to stay as my cervix was dilated and waters were definitely broken, although they said there was a possibility I could go home if my contractions stopped and would continue to be monitored.

Over the next few hours whilst I was still not in established labour it was all very calm, I asked to be monitored upright so I could sit on the birthing ball. I had a playlist of relaxing music I listened to, mum helped with the light back massage we learnt at your workshop and I continuously reassured myself with the positive affirmations and calm counted breaths. We managed to go for a couple of walks around the hospital grounds and my contractions were quite mild for a long time. It was very relaxing at this point and I found the tools I learnt from you really helpful.

It wasn't until around 10.30pm that they started to get more painful and over the next couple of hours all sped up very quickly. Admittedly towards the end I did start to panic as there wasn't great communication from the midwife as to how far along things were or what was really happening (mum had to figure this out) and I assumed I still had a long way to go, however, through the knowledge from your workshop I trusted my body and trusted the process and the positive affirmations got me through.

I never managed to get into the position I wanted to be in but I did manage a natural birth with no pain relief as intended but with an assisted birth (episiotomy and forceps as little one started to get tired). I believe that although it could have gone more smoothly given the right communication, the knowledge and confidence me and mum gained from your workshop made the whole journey a lot more relaxing and empowering than it would have been had we not attended.

We worked together really well to deliver my baby safely and as calmly as possible. She helped me count my breaths when I couldn't keep count in the later stages and was my rock to lean on. Alfie John Rhodes was born a healthy 5lbs and is now thriving, growing and developing extremely well - I'm so proud of him. We stayed 3 weeks on the neonatal ward with him and have now been home almost 3 weeks.

I just want to thank you for your invaluable knowledge which coming from someone who had a deep fear of pregnancy and labour managed to conquer labour relatively calmly considering the circumstances and lack of control and although I couldn't complete the online course, what I did take from it helped me so much. Here are some pictures of our perfect little boy xx"

My hypnobabe!!! Didn’t want to wait and arrived a month early on Saturday 9th April weighing in at a whopping 7lb1 Despite the abrupt arrival and the reduced time I had to practice my relaxation I truly believe that I wouldn’t have been as prepared as I was and I wouldn’t have been able to achieve my goal. Natural birth, no pain relief at all! I’m not going to say I didn’t have a few wobbles or consider pain relief in the final hour but I do believe hypnobirthing is the way forwards and helps you keep your focus.
